Reticulated silver earrings with gold seams

Reticulated sterling silver rectangle earrings with two 18ct gold hammered ‘seams’

Ref. Monolith E03 From £116
I make these earrings by reticulating silver sheet, cutting it to the shape I require then soldering the gold to the surface. Finally I add handmade ear hooks and polish the piece ready to wear.

Reticulation is a process of heating and ‘pickling’ the sterling silver a number of times until the pure silver has come to the surface. Consequently, the silver starts to melt and run into beautiful forms reminiscent of sand moulded by water on beaches as the tide goes out.

Matching pieces are available here and here.
