Contemporary Craft Festival
I have had a fabulous time over the last month meeting new people, sharing new work with those lovely people who have already bought my work and speaking with press. This article was published in the Moorlander (the local paper for Dartmoor) which has some great photos and captures the huge variety of work which was on show at The Contemporary Craft Festival in Bovey Tracey. The MoorlanderI was completely exhausted after the show, it was my first major event, and took some time out away from my bench to mull over all the lovely things people said and think about where my work is heading.New Galleries.I have been invited to show in 2 more galleries since the show, one called Mike Gell in Hereford and the other to be announced when I take part in their winter show. Mike Gell Gallery This is a great step forward for me one of my goals this year was to take my work up country and into new markets.IJL and Kickstart.Kickstart Kickstart Vote is going to be an incredible opportunity to this end. I have been selected as one of 10 emerging jewellers in the UK to take part in the trade show at Olympia in September with an opportunity to win a stand at next years show, to win I have to ask all you lovely folks to vote for me by following the link above and selecting me. You don't need to sign up or leave your personal information!!International Jewellery London IJL is a huge trade show and we had a day at Goldsmiths in London to learn more about the show and meet our fellow jewellers which was very interesting. Goldsmiths is a fantastic building and it is full of the most talented people. I took the night train up from Truro, very exciting and made me feel like a child again. Now it is time for a rest and time to enjoy our new house, yes we moved house during all this too.... I have a huge garden to tend too and a husband and a dog who require my undivided attention after all the frantic activity this year.Pete bringing ice-creams to me at Bovey!
