Talisman Jewellery Fundraising
What a great start!!
2021 has been the launch of my Talisman Collection. I was inspired to do something positive with my skills as a jeweller and the more I read about our wildlife and conservation and the decline in species, the more I knew that this collection had to be a way to fundraise and raise awareness of some of the rarest species in our environment.
Your purchase helps in the first instance by giving money to conservation charities to support their work but in the long term, you help to spread the message to others and raise awareness of the richness and importance of our wildlife. I believe that spreading enthusiasm in this way is invaluable and positively infectious!
The idea behind the Talisman jewellery fundraising is that I make a donation of 10% of each sale to a conservation charity as my way of working with you to give something back and make a positive impact. I was struck by something I once read that stated that research shows when you know the names of other species, you are more likely to care for them. By etching the names of endangered species into beautiful, timeless pieces of jewellery, I am creating a call to arms if you like, small wearable sculptures that are signs of beauty and hope in the face of decline and loss.

To date (2023), I have made donations of over £800 to Plantlife, RSPB and Surfers Against Sewage and nearly £900 to Explorers Against Extinction who support global conservation projects through their 21 for 21 campaign. It is amazing what we can do when we get together, THANK YOU!!

Makers Against Extinction is a fundraising page on Instagram which I set up in 2021 during lockdown to help raise money for the conservation charity Explorers Against Extinction. Click below to find out more about them and all the projects they run.
