The faceted blue opal in this tear drop pendant is the most beautiful turquoise colour reminiscent of summer holidays by the sea. It is set in a rub over setting and held in place with asymmetrical gold claws on a simple silver chain. The simplicity of the design highlights the beauty of the stone and its delicate inclusions.

Genuine Peruvian Blue Opals are only mined in the Andes and are held in great regard as the country’s national stone.

The colour of the Peruvian Opal is said to look like the Caribbean sea but I think it looks very much like the coves around Cornwall in the summer when the sea turns a stunning turquoise and the rock pools team with life.
