Distinctive Synthesis Necklace, raw understated elegance.

The necklace is made from many hand cut pieces of silver and gold assembled into the final design, inspired by how the great landscape I love is made up of millions of tiny living things. I join them together with 18ct gold rings which are also shaped into a rectangle to continue the forms. The links graduate in size for comfort and the clasp is integrated into the design.

The outline forms are inspired by the standing stones such as those at Stone Henge and the tiny Lichen forms that grow in clean, beautiful places. The gold used in my work represents the beauty and importance of our astonishing natural environment.

Synthesis meaning -  ‘The combining of separate elements or substances to form a coherent whole.’ This collection brings together the themes of Lichen and Monolith creating a strong visual design conveying the ideas of historic handworked craft and the human connection to place.
