Talisman Bird Brooch
Talisman Bird Brooch
A TIMELESS BROOCH DESIGN INSPIRED BY ENDANGERED BRITISH BIRDS.
This recycled silver and gold detail brooch is designed with the names of some of our endangered British birds etched into the surface. There is a small tube across the top where you can display feathers you find while out walking as well as tiny hand cut feather and a golden egg charms.
I hand write the words onto the silver before etching to give a raised design which you can feel when you run your finger over the textured surface.
Farm Wildlife sees 9 leading wildlife organisations brought together to provide a single source of best-practice management advice for wildlife on farmland. It aims to sustain farmland species (including many endangered birds) and bring wider benefits across the farm enterprise.

The Talisman project is about lost words and species on the edge of extinction – wild flowers, birds, kelp forests, sea grass and, of course, lichen. They are Talisman pieces of jewellery to be worn and loved and remind the wearer that nature is important. We are part of nature, not separate from it, and we all need to take more care.
