Cornish Seashell and Blue opal earrings
Cornish Seashell and Blue opal earrings
Contemporary Cornish Jewellery inspired by the Sea.
A brand new design, completely inspired by the sea and the textures and colours I love. The Peruvian Blue Opals are faceted to catch the light and the stunning blue stone is filled with small black inclusions which look to me like sea weed in rock pools. Peruvian Blue Opals are only mined in the Andes in Peru making them very rare and highly prized. The stone is said to encourage creativity, soften the effects of stress and bring courage.
Using the sand casting technique, the heavily textured silver elements in these earrings have been cast from a limpet shell I found on my local beach. The Peruvian Blue Opals are reminiscent of the colour of the sea around Cornwall. This, paired with the distinctive texture of limpet shells, makes a very striking pair of earrings which catch the light beautifully and have a subtle movement when worn.
