Black Mica Quartz Ring
Black Mica Quartz Ring
Talisman Black Mica Quartz Ring with etched moth species.
Available from the Sanctuary Gallery, Gloucestershire.
The Talisman ring is etched with names of endangered British moth species and crowned with a beautiful faceted black mica quartz cabochon. The mica is held in the quartz like a story frozen in time like moths pinned in collectors displays.
My Talisman collection explores the idea that by learning the names of non human species, we are more likely to look after them. By etching their names into silver which is then worn as jewellery, conversations will lead to conservation of these red list species.
The Talisman range was originally inspired by reading The Running Hare by John Lewis-Stemple and Rewilding by Isabella Tree and my subsequent research of red list species.
