Contemporary blue opal earrings, raw understated elegance.

The opals in these contemporary luxury earrings are of the highest quality, sometimes referred too as Paraiba Andean opals. This is due to the colour which is similar to Paraiba tourmalines from Brazil.

Found only in the Andes in Peru, the faceted blue opals in these contemporary earrings have beautiful dendritic details reminiscent of seaweed and lichen growths. They are set in a gold rub over setting with an oxidised recycled silver stud to compliment the dendrite colours.

The colour of the Peruvian Opal is said to look like the Caribbean sea but I think it looks very much like the coves around Cornwall in the summer when the sea turns a stunning turquoise and the rock pools team with life.
