Talisman Bird Brooch with a feather holder for your found treasures.

This recycled silver brooch is etched with birds such as the skylark, tree sparrow and song thrush, all of which are declining in their numbers. The reverse is hand pierced with a feather, a little secret detail for you to treasure.

On the side of the collectors brooch is a small holder for you to put in your favourite feather picked up on a summer walk, it was be as large as you like!

Each Talisman brooch has the names of rare species of plants and animals that are endangered and/or extinct due to mis-informed farming practises encouraged by the government post Second World War. I wanted to create a contemporary jewellery collection that calls to mind the names of those diminishing lives as a way of remembering them and holding them in our consciousness.
